With my daily commute now from Redmond to Seattle, I have time in the car that I’ve been trying to redeem by listening to sermons rather than useless radio or self-satisfying music. Lately, I’ve really been gaining incredible insight from Matt Chandler, particularly his 2006 series on the book of Ecclesiastes.
This sermon is in the middle of the book and covers Ecclesiastes 7:25-29, but Chandler ties in pieces from Genesis 1-3, Ephesians 5, and Colossians 1 to paint the whole picture of the Bible as it relates to the redemptive work of Jesus. Ultimately, Solomon’s words guide us to understand topics like paradise, mankind’s monumental mistake, death, knowledge, lust, significance of life, and marriage.
If you can spare an hour, I highly recommend this sermon, as it is a great survey through the Bible and a variety of modern issues are explained with great clarity.
The rest of the sermon series can be found on The Village Church’s sermon page.
